Korean Cinema Remix explores Korean cinema across genre, style, and transnational contexts. The blog focuses on how films reflect and reshape contemporary experiences—especially under conditions of rapid modernization, global circulation, and shifting cultural meanings.

Rather than treating films as isolated texts, this space approaches cinema as part of a broader cultural and industrial network. Particular attention is given to genre conventions, stylistic strategies, and the ways in which Korean cinema engages with global cinematic forms while producing its own distinct sensibilities.

At its core, Korean Cinema Remix is interested in how cinema articulates tensions within contemporary life: between capital and everyday experience, technology and the human, local specificity and global systems. Eliot, born and bred in Korea, studied film and mass communication at graduate school and has worked in the broadcasting industry. He writes on film through a cultural studies lens.
